Goffin & King Songwriter's Retreat

This was my first time attending The Goffin & King Songwriter’s Retreat at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center in October of 2023, and what a treat it was! I haven’t done anything like this since I was in college at Berklee School of Music, or when I was a sequestered contestant on The Voice (Season 3) and the only thing we could do to kill the time was get together and write songs.

Schedule for Friday 10/13/2023

Group 1 - 9:15a-11:45a Songwriting Session, 2.5 hrs

Group 2 - 1:30p-4:00p Songwriting Session, 2.5 hrs

Performance - 5:30p Depart for FURSTWORLD - Dinner and Show! So many groups got up and performed their songs. For some, it was their first time ever writing, let alone performing, but others were seasoned musicians and crafted some really beautiful tunes. And in such a short amount of time! It was very inspiring. Our Group #1 performed our song, ‘Notes To Our Future Selves’ - CHORUS: “We’re not alone, or out of control. So, we seek what to believe, learning it over and over again. Notes to our future selves, no longer abandoned upon the shelf.”
